WHAT CAN I DO I’M JUST ONE PERSON?
A percentage of proceeds from every “Remember the Sick” product goes to the efforts in ending the AIDS crisis in the world. Beyond buying a shirt:
- Continue to educate yourself on the issues. Don't let your knowledge of the world AIDS crisis stop here. Stay up to date on happenings in the world concerning AIDS by frequently checking our World News section and the links concerning AIDS in our Links section.
- Become aware of and active in the issues of world poverty and the clean water epidemic as two thirds of the worlds' AIDS victims are also victim to these social injustices lessening their survival rate drastically.
- Volunteer at your local AIDS clinic. As the late Princess Diana stated “HIV does not make people dangerous to know, so you can shake their hands and give them a hug: Heaven knows they need it.” People in your community are dying from this disease, let’s love and support them in their greatest time of need.
- Promote AIDS awareness. Raise awareness in your community or school by speaking out for the worlds sick and dying. There are so many ways that you can do this:
Ask to speak to your school/class, group, church. Make them aware of the world AIDS crisis. If you need help getting started you can purchase “Remember The Sick” flyer cards in our webstore to get the conversation started.
Hold a world AIDS crisis event via The Love Alliance. We all know that not everyone has the ability to give financially to an issue, but maybe you have the ability to give of your time towards the world aids crisis. Get creative in putting together an event towards the relief in ending the world aids crisis. For help in getting an event started email info@thelovealliance.net
- Join with The Love Alliance in helping to provide desperately needed AIDS (antiretroviral) medication, care and support services to children and their families living with HIV/AIDS in Africa through Keep A Child Alive.
- Purchase a mosquito net for $10 to help prevent malaria. Each of these nets protects 4 individuals at a time from the deadly malaria virus. Beyond the four immediate individuals they each protect, the insecticide treated nets reduce the mosquito population in the area and ultimately aid whole communities in combating the malaria virus.
- Pay for a child to have cleft surgery through The Smile Train. Clefts are a major problem in developing countries where there are millions of children who are suffering with unrepaired clefts. Most cannot eat or speak properly. Aren’t allowed to attend school or hold a job. And face very difficult lives filled with shame and isolation, pain and heartache.
